serial #455579B, 32 WCF, 24" round barrel with full magazine and a very good bore showing good rifling but fine pitting throughout. This is a nice honest 1893 production rifle. The barrel and magazine retain a pleasing smooth brown patina with perhaps 20% original blue remaining in protected areas, along with some sparse specks of fine oxidation staining. The action, which features the serrated rear sliding dust cover rail, retains perhaps 40% original blue finish with most being on the sideplates and the balance a soft brown gray patina with some light staining primarily towards the rear of the frame. The buttplate has toned to brown as well with scattered fine pitting and oxidation, a little more pronounced at the heel and tang. The plain walnut stocks rate very good plus retaining much original finish with scattered light dents and handling marks from the years, almost adding to the antiquity of the rifle. The rifle is sighted with a standard sporting front sight and semi-buckhorn rear sight. A great looking later third model 1873 rifle. (57942-10) {ANTIQUE} (2000/3000) SOLD FOR $1,840.00
