serial #265556, 30 WCF, 26" round barrel with full magazine and a bright excellent bore. This is a nice, honest rifle in fabulous condition with the barrel and magazine retaining 95-97% original blue, loss due to fine silvering along the edges of the muzzle with a slightly larger spot on the belly of the magazine tube, a few minor rubbing scuffs and a speck or two of fine oxidation staining along the barrel. The action retains 90-95% original blue lightly thinning to brown with some scattered very fine staining, the loss primarily along the edges and belly. The color-case hardened finish on the the hammer has darkened over time with much crisp coloring remaining on the lever. The plain walnut stock and forend rate excellent retaining nearly all of their original finish with only a few minor marks and blemishes. The crescent steel buttplate has toned to a nice pleasing pewter patina. The rifle is sighted with a Lyman ivory bead front sight and an express rear sight. A lovely 1902 production Model 1894 rifle.
