serial #204844, 44-40 WCF, 7 1/2" barrel with a good to near very good bore which shows evident rifling but with minor pitting its full-length, a few spots which could be characterized as moderate. The metal surfaces are an overall soft plum brown and tarnished pewter gray patina, the principal markings still legible with the left side barrel marking slightly light. There is scattered, near over all, light pinprick pitting, a few spots which are slightly more moderate on the frame. A couple of the screw heads show some light slot damage, one is a later replacement, as is the ejector rod head. The checkered hard rubber Rampant Colt grips rate about very good, they are worn fairly smooth and have now toned to a light brown, with the Rampant Colt logos still evident, they are scratch-numbered to a different gun but fit very well. The gun seems to function well mechanically however its lockup is slightly loose, the cylinder rod head is fairly well scarred up. Manufactured in 1901, a good entry-level Frontier Six Shooter for the budding Colt collector. (38158-34) {C&R} (2500/4000) SOLD FOR $2,070.00
