serial #1964358, 30-30, 24" barrel with a bright excellent bore. The barrel retains 98-99% original blue finish displaying some lightly scattered handling marks and having the smallest amount of silvering around the muzzle. The frame and action retain 97-98% original blue finish having some slight loss on the belly and on the high edges along with having some extremely light scratches. The smooth walnut pistolgrip buttstock and semi-beavertail forend rate excellent displaying just a couple of light dings but otherwise remain as-new. Rifle is sighted with a brass bead hooded front sporting sight and a semi-buckhorn u-notch rear sight. Included with the rifle is original factory box. The box itself rates very good displaying the expected minor oxidation, scuff marks and oil stains from the years. The top of the box displays the original 20" x 5 1/2" "Winchester Model 64 Deer Rifle" label which remains in very good condition displaying some drying cracks. The bottom of the box shows scattered scuff marks and the original shipping tape; some of the corners have separated. The end label rates very good having 1" missing from the left side; there is a number written on the lower left side which is extremely light and unreadable. Included in the box is a factory leather sling that shows some light verdigris, super grade sling swivels and the Winchester "Important Instructions for Model 64" pamphlet which describes the takedown, assembly and operation of the gun. Overall an absolutely superb Model 64 Deer Rifle which appears unfired, likely unused since leaving New Haven in 1953. (177889-88) {C&R} [Allan Wilson Collection] (1500/2500) SOLD FOR $2,300.00
