Click on images for enlarged versions.

serial #3522z, 8mm Mauser, 24" barrel with a very good bore that has a couple large pits halfway down from muzzle but strong rifling. The barrel and receiver of this "42" coded and 1939 dated rifle retain about 60% original blue with oxidation specks and oxidation staining throughout and silvering and fading on barrel. The triggerguard, buttplate, floorplate and bands have turned a silver pewter with oxidation staining throughout and some heavy oxidation on top of buttplate. The walnut stock rates good plus to very good with a strong "(Eagle)/L" marking for Luftwaffe, two strong "(Eagle)/WaA655" Waffenamts, a large 1 1/4" abrasion on the left side of butt, a 1/2" abrasion on left side of receiver, further smaller abrasions, dings, handling marks and scratches throughout. All visible parts are matching to the receiver and the parts are marked with the correct "(Eagle)/63" or "(Eagle)/655" Waffenamts. No cleaning rod is present but a black leather K98 style sling is included that shows crackling, flaking and crazing. A well-used but good representative example of an early Luftwaffe marked K98k. (208112-3) {C&R} [Marsell Collection] (800/1200) SOLD FOR $1,380.00
