.71 Cal, 41" smoothbore barrel with an oxidized bore. The lockplate, bandkeepers, cleaning rod and barrel are turning a dull gray patina with scattered oxidation staining and oxidation spots and a few light impact marks on the barrel. The upper tang, hammer and buttplate are also turning a dull gray patina but show more oxidation staining and oxidation spots. The brass triggerguard, lower tang and band have turned a dull yellow patina with scattered oxidation staining and small dings. The hardwood stock rates very good with a 1" chip on right side below lockplate, a couple chips in the cleaning rod channel, scattered dings, handling marks and scratches. The left side of the stock is marked with a couple crisp Prussian markings including a "(Crown)/FW" marking, the top of the barrel is also marked "(Crown)/FW" and the lockplate appears to be marked "st & L/Suhl". The buttplate is marked "16591" and what appears to be a correct socket bayonet is included that is marked with a crown and it shows scattered oxidation staining. A fine example of a Prussian 1808/39 musket. (207879-269) {ANTIQUE} [Craig Brown Collection] (800/1200) SOLD FOR $747.50
