serial #7025A, 11mm Mauser, 29 1/2" barrel with a very good plus bore shows that scattered frosting but strong rifling. The in-the-white receiver of this 1874 dated rifle remains mostly bright with scattered oxidation staining, while the lower tang, triggerguard and buttplate are turning a gray patina with oxidation thinning throughout and the triggerguard shows the remnants of the original blue. The barrel and bands have turned a dull brown patina with some light band removal marks and scattered oxidation staining. The walnut stock rates very good as-cleaned with a few partially faded Imperial cartouches, a 1" crack at upper tang, two abrasions on right side of butt, scattered dings and handling marks. The bolt screw and bolt screw head are mismatched, a few of the screws exhibit slot damage and their numbers are indiscernible but the remain is included is ing visible parts are matching. There is a unit marking on the top of the buttplate that reads "7.P/4. 67. A brass muzzle cap marked "7.A.F.1.162" is included. A good example of a hard-to-find model 1871 Jager rifle.
