Description Update (3/15/17): Some light pitting on cylinder

serial #4792, 11mm German Ordnance, 4 1/2" barrel with a very good bore that shows scattered light pitting but strong rifling. The metal surfaces of this 1893 dated revolver retain about 60% original blue finish with scattered fading, freckling throughout, silvering on the high edges of the barrel and light pitting on front and backstraps. The smooth grips rate very good with a 1/2" chip on the top of the right panel, a small chip on left panel, some stains, dings, abrasions, scratches and handling marks. The left grip panel is un-numbered, the left side of frame at front is numbered "99" but all other parts are matching. There is a lined-out unit marking on the back of the grip which reads "1 G.A.E.24" and an undisturbed marking which reads "L.G.". This revolver includes an original black leather M/85 holster that is marked "L.G.06." on front and shows crazing, crackling and flaking throughout with the cartridge pouch beginning to tear at front. A very good Reichsrevolver for the German military collector. (207879-407) {ANTIQUE} [Craig Brown Collection] (800/1200) SOLD FOR $862.50
