serial #1097, 35 Rem, 22 1/2" barrel with a very good bore that shows scattered light pitting. The metal surfaces retain 75% original blue with scattered freckling, fading and silvering on the barrel, receiver and magazine and some dings on the lower tang. The walnut stock rates about very good with an added coat of varnish, a couple thin 1" cracks and some small chips at upper tang, a 1/3" abrasion on forend, scattered dings, handling marks and scratches. The FN marked buttplate rates about very good with dirt staining and crazing throughout and a 1/4" crack at top. The rifle is equipped with an unmarked peep sight on the upper tang and a side mounted receiver scope mount that is marked "J.ALBRECHT/DETMOLD". The charging handle has a hexagon shaped nut over it and the rifle is also equipped with an unmarked set of open sights. These rifles were an FN produced copy of the Remington Model 8 intended for European sales and only 4,913 were produced due to poor sales. A solid example of a rare Model 1900 rifle for the Remington or FN collector. (208071-8) {C&R} (800/1200) SOLD FOR $1,495.00
