serial #31682A, .52 cal. RF, 21" barrel with a fair to near good bore showing heavy pitting and oxidation along its length. The barrel is a mottled gray patina showing some pitting and oxidation staining and has a brass barrel band. The frame and hammer are a silvery case-hardened patina with heavy oxidation on the left side. The lever and lower tang are a gray patina with pitting and heavy oxidation. The lockplate is a silvery case-hardened patina with the maker markings still present and clear. The buttstock rates good and has darkened over the years with the usual dings and handling marks and has several chips around the upper tang and lockplate; the forearm rates about very good with minor dings and handling marks as well. The buttplate is now a grayish plum patina with pitting and oxidation staining. There are several screws replaced throughout that are either the incorrect size, not screwed in all the way or screw heads that are broken off. The falling block breech mechanism seems to function well mechanically and the sling ring is intact on the left side of the breech. (217877-22) {ANTIQUE} (800/1200) SOLD FOR $632.50
