791. Remington Model 1889 Double Hammer Gun

serial #97279, 12 ga, 30" solid rib barrels both choked improved modified with bright excellent bores. The barrels have toned to a pleasing plum patina with scattered scratches and light specks of surface oxidation. The locks retain 85% vivid case-hardened colors with the balance fading to a brown patina. The checkered walnut round knob pistolgrip buttstock and forend rate excellent as refinished with scattered dings and scratches from the years. The stock is fitted with its original Remington bone buttplate which provides a 13 1/4" length of pull. The hammers function well. This was the last of the Remington hammer guns and has the very attractive "circle" hammers which lay flat and out of the line of sight when cocked. A very fine plus example.
