serial #1007066, 32 WCF, 24" round barrel with button magazine and an excellent bright bore. The barrel retains 95% original blue, loss due to an area of brown fading on the left side of the barrel in front of the forend tip, some tiny minute nicks behind the front sight and light silvering along the muzzle. The action retains 85% original blue with the majority of loss being belly and edge wear from honest carry along with light silvering in the upper rear left corner where the receiver was drilled and tapped for sight provision. The areas of loss along the receiver a smooth gray patina with the lever having a pale brown patina with some fine oxidation staining. The plain pistolgrip walnut buttstock and forearm rate about very good with light handling marks and spots of flaking varnish, the left side of the stock has come in contact with some kind of contaminate which has caused fine crazing primarily in the wrist area. The rifle is sighted with a ramp mounted beaded front sight and a Marble's No. 63 rear sight, the front sight hood is no longer present. An overall very good Model 65 that would make a fine sporting rifle. (58087-191) {C&R} [Kenneth Fry Collection] (800/1200) SOLD FOR $2,645.00
