The barrels retain about 20% original blue in the more protected areas with the balance being an even brown patina with some scattered light pitting in areas. The action retain 95% nicely restored color case-hardened finish, while the locks are more of a smooth mottled gray patina. The triggerguard retains about 90% of a quality old restored blue finish with areas of loss showing a nice mellow patina. The checkered pistolgrip buttstock and forend are of English walnut and feature a nice rounded cheekpiece and a lever release forend. The buttplate is a smooth steel shotgun style which is gray with some scattered light surface oxidation present. The stocks rate excellent with a good deal of original oil finish remaining, cirsp edges on cheekpiece and with nice sharp freshened checkering. The rifle is equipped with sling studs mounted in toeline of stock and in bottom rib of barrels. The rifle features double locking underlugs and dolls head rib extension and locks up tightly. Top lever hammerguns are neat and with its nice clean bores and great chambering, this rifle would make a great rifle for deer, moose or elk.
