82. Winchester Model 1892 Special Order Takedown Rifle

serial #858823, 44 WCF, 24" part round part octagon barrel with full magazine and a bright excellent bore. The special order barrel retains an overall brown patina with scattered fine oxidation staining while the magazine tube retains about 90% original blue toning to brown, the takedown magazine cap a brighter gray and brown. The action retains an overall pale brown patina with light silvering along the edges, the loading gate retaining about 95% original blue. The nosecap bears an overall brown patina while the crescent buttplate is a slightly brighter pale gray and brown with light oxidation at the heel. The plain walnut stocks rate about very good with a thin 1" chip in the left wrist behind the receiver and a couple small chips in the right side of the forend along the edge of the iron with other minor handling marks in an added light varnish. The rifle is sighted with standard sporting sights and a Lyman DA peep sight on the rear tang. An about very good 1918 production 1892 rifle.
