91. German P.08 S/42 G-Date Luger Pistol by Mauser

serial #3352f, 9mm, 4" barrel with a bright about excellent bore showing strong rifling and only minor frosting along its length. The metal surfaces retain about 92-95% original blue, the loss due to fading to brown on the straps and high edge and contact point wear. The straw parts still show a strong straw temper with minor oxidation staining on the right side of the magazine release and the ejector. The toggle is marked with the "S/42" assembly code, the chamber is G-dated and all of the visible numbered parts are matching with the exception of the un-grooved firing pin which is not numbered. It is noted however that although the numbers on the toggle train match the serial number of this gun the font of the "S/42" assembly code is more likely that of the "g" suffix from later in the production run. The checkered walnut grips rate excellent with only minor flattening of the points and they are stamp-numbered to the gun on their interior. Included is a single blue-bodied aluminum-based magazine numbered "6852" and the numbers "42" and rates very good with about 50% blue remaining. Overall a nice example of a secret G-dated Luger.
