serial #3822t, 8mm Mauser, 24" barrel with a bright near excellent bore that shows the beginnings of frost near the muzzle. The metal surfaces of this bnz 45 coded rifle retain about 90% original phosphate with the bolt showing typical late-war machining, scattered light even fading, a few band removal marks on barrel and a few scattered minor spots of oxidation staining. The laminated stock rates very good with an older lightly added oil finish, a tiny chip between bands, a few dings, handling marks and a partially faded "(Eagle)/H" marking on the handguard. The cocking piece, bolt sleeve, bolt handle, rear sight base and rear sight slide are matching to the barrel but the remaining parts are unnumbered including the receiver as-is typical for late war guns. The matching parts are correctly marked with an "(Eagle)/623" Waffenamt, the floorplate is marked "byf", the triggerguard "svw" and both are correctly marked with "(Eagle)/135" Waffenamts for Mauser Oberndorf. There is a blued front sight hood present and the rifle exhibits the correct late-war features. A very fine Kreigsmodell for the military collector. (208281-5) {C&R} (1200/1800) SOLD FOR $1,495.00
