serial #2099a, 8mm Mauser, 19" barrel with a very good bore that shows some scattered light pitting but strong rifling. The metal surfaces of this dot coded and 1941 dated rifle retain 95% original blue with some moderate pitting and freckling on bands, further scattered light freckling and some oxidation staining on buttplate. The walnut stock rates very good with an added oil finish, the handguard showing some overhang on the left side at rear, a 1" crack at front of handguard, an area of chipping around right sling cut, a few moderate abrasions, scattered dings, scratches and handling marks. The stock is mismatched, the bolt and handguard are matching while the remaining parts appear unnumbered. A correct blued front sight hood and leather sling are included with the sling possibly being a reproduction. A very good example of these interesting German mountain carbines.
