serial #1070696, 45 ACP, 5" High Standard barrel with a bright excellent bore. This is an absolutely wonderful "Switch". The metal surfaces retain about 98 to near 99% original dark black Du-lite finish, the loss being some very light high edge wear at muzzle and rear of slide and some sparsely scattered very light handling marks here and there, most of which do not breech the blue. The brown plastic Keyes Fibre Company grips are the early style without reinforcement rings around the screw holes and rate excellent. The barrel is a correct High Standard-manufactured barrel and a single seven round Risdon magazine is included. All of the appropriate components appear to be a Union Switch and Signal and according to the consignor, the arm was issued to him and kept throughout the war. The circled U.S. inspector's "RCD" is crisp and stamped after finish on the left side of the arm. The breech face is immaculate and shows no signs of ever having touched brass, the front polished edge of the extractor still brilliant, feed ramp and chamber show no signs of ever having a cartridge introduced. The holster issued with the arm is included. It is a tan "U.S." marked Boyt, 1945-dated holster in about excellent condition showing only very light wear and the expected verdigree at the brass hardware. Overall a very nearly as-new, issued Union Switch and Signal, which could very easily pass for "unissued". (38380-1) {C&R} (4000/6000) SOLD FOR $8,050.00
