serial #2718, 45 ACP, 5" barrel with a bright very good plus to near excellent bore which shows sparse light frosting, primarily within the grooves. The metal surfaces retain perhaps 90-92% original blue, the chief loss being toning to a gray-brown on the straps. A top radii of the slide shows wear to pewter, also along the high edges and contact points, the flats showing some sparsely scattered very light oxidation staining. The trigger, extractor, grip screws and rear sight retain strong pale fire temper blue with some mottled gray-blue color case-hardening on the rounded checkered hammer. The diamond-checkered walnut grips rate very good and very good plus-fine, the right grip showing more wear and a few lightly chipped points, the left grip showing less wear with very good varnish. Included is a single original blued-body seven round magazine which is unmarked and shows some very light oxidation on its base plate. There are a few minor impact marks here and there, primarily around the rear barrel cam pin, and the bottom of the butt shows some punch-dot initials from the period of use which are honest and unobtrusive. The markings remain crisp and legible and the gun is a very nice example overall. (38318-10) {C&R} (3500/5000) SOLD FOR $3,737.50
