serial #106128, 12 ga. x 243 Win, 25 1/2" barrels with bright excellent bores, the shotgun barrel choked full. The barrels retain about 98-99% original maker blue with a tiny amount of loss at the muzzles. The French gray scalloped boxlock frame rates excellent and shows lovely game scene vignettes with waterfowl right and leaping stag left, all flanked by excellent quality loose open scroll and geometric engraving. The top lever and bow of guard retain excellent original blue. The checkered capped walnut pistolgrip stock and three-piece forend rate very good plus to near excellent showing the expected minor dings and handling marks that come from a hunted arm, a bit more prominent on the buttstock. The stock features a rounded left-side shadowline cheekpiece, hard rubber pistolgrip cap and is fitted with a ventilated recoil pad for a 14 1/4" length of pull to the front trigger. The arm is sighted with a simple silver bead front sight, pivoting two-position rear sight and is maker-mounted with a nice Karl Kahles Helia-S 6x42 telescopic sight with heavy duplex reticle and bright excellent optics on quick detach bases. The scope itself rates excellent showing a few very minor handling marks. The arm features double triggers, the front being a single set, non-automatic safety, cocking indicators and extractors. An outstanding bockbuchsflinte overall in very versatile chamberings that really deserves to go back afield this fall. (38413-82) {MODERN} (3500/5500) SOLD FOR $3450.00
