serial #212569, .31 cal, 6" octagon barrel with a bright very good plus to very near excellent bore which shows only some sparsely scattered very light oxidation. The barrel retains about 95-97% original blue, the loss due to flaking on the left flats and some light toning at the muzzle, also with sparsely scattered spots of oxidation here and there, it features the New York address. The loading lever shows some very lovely color case-hardening and the 5-shot cylinder has toned to a deep gray-blue faded original blue with a strong cylinder scene; the hammer rest pins are partially intact. The frame retains about 97% original color case-hardening which is quite vibrant in spots, also showing some sparsely scattered light oxidation. The hammer is similar, with some light oxidation on its right side, the trigger with strong pale fire temper blue. The triggerguard retains perhaps 40% original silver plate with the straps fading to a goldenrod patina, the backstrap retaining perhaps 20% original silver along the butt and atop the knuckle, the rear strap a goldenrod patina. The one piece walnut grip rates very good plus showing flaked varnish left and right but with few light handling marks; they are ink pen-numbered to the gun on their interior. All of the numbers are matching with the exception of the wedge and the gun times properly and locks up well. A very lovely Colt 1849 Pocket overall retaining very nice condition.
