serial #97245, 38 Colt, 3 1/2" round barrel with a very good plus bore which is mostly bright with strong rifling with a few very sparsely scattered spots of light oxidation or light pitting. The metal surfaces retain about 95-97% original bright nickel, the areas of loss being light flaking around the flash area at rear of barrel, light muzzle wear and a bit more prominent cylinder flaking. The exposed metal beneath is bright in all cases and is unobtrusive, it is in fact difficult to see where plating ends and bare metal begins in some spots. The trigger and spine of hammer, as well as the screws, show some very strong pale nitre blue; the bright polished sides of the hammer still brilliant. The arm wears a nice pair of smooth genuine mother-of-pearl grips which rate very good plus to excellent, they are unmarked but fit very very well, the right with a couple small flakes. This example is ejectorless and has the knurled base pin used for removing spent rounds. Gun seems to function well mechanically and all of the numbers are matching. A really stellar example that would be right at home in a period casing. (38433-30){ANTIQUE}[Paul Weisberg Collection] (2500/3500) SOLD FOR $2,300.00
