serial #11450, .44 cal, 6" round barrel with a bright near excellent bore showing a little scattered oxidation. This double action revolver remains in quite nice condition overall with the metal surfaces retaining about 70% original bright blue that shows some scattered small patches of pinprick pitting and oxidation staining, some small dings, scratches and some areas toning to silver and grayish brown. A few of the screws also show some minor slot damage. The hammer retains very strong case colors with some scratches and oxidation staining, the lever and trigger have mostly toned to smoky gray and silver with some small patches of oxidation staining, pinprick pitting and freckling. The one-piece smooth walnut grip is stamp-numbered to the gun and remains in near excellent condition with just a few small dings and handling marks scattered about. Two inspector cartouches are present and remain quite crisp, all serialized parts are matching and the mechanism on this example remains strong and fully functional with excellent timing and lockup. A very fine example of these interesting double action Civil War revolvers. (138527-48) {ANTIQUE} (2000/4000) SOLD FOR $1,840.00
