serial #99896, 32 ACP, 3 3/4" barrel with a bright near excellent bore showing a little frosting throughout. The metal surfaces of this gorgeous pistol retain about 96% original bright blue with some high edge wear, some scattered scratches, freckles and gripstraps just starting to thin to gray. There is also a small ding on the left side of the barrel at the muzzle. The extractor retains streaks of fire temper blue that has flaked to gray and the trigger, magazine release and manual safety retain nearly all of their vibrant fire temper blue. This pistol is nearly 75% covered with early Colt special embellishment featuring expert scrollwork and punch-dot shading. The grips are factory mother-of-pearl with gold Rampant Colt medallions and remain in near excellent condition with a few minor handling marks, a tiny chip near the safety on the left panel and the backing material on the right panel has detached from the grip. This could no doubt be easily repaired and does not detract from the appearance of this fine pistol. Included is one blue-bodied magazine in near excellent condition. The pistol also includes a Colt factory letter that indicates it was shipped with blue finish, engraved and with pearl grips on May 21, 1910 to none other than the Browning Bros. of Ogden, Utah and was the only gun in the shipment. A really fantastic piece with an interesting shipping destination. (138524-2) {C&R} (3000/5000) SOLD FOR $20,700.00
