serial #387711, 38 Special, 4" barrel with a bright excellent, likely unfired, bore. The metal surfaces on this superb revolver retain about 99% original nickel, the only loss being some extremely light wear at left of muzzle and a couple spots on the sharp edges of the cylinder flutes which show some light oxidation. The ribbed top flat and top surfaces of the sight are factory satin finished and the trigger is neatly checkered. The checkered walnut grips with silver Rampant Colt medallions rate excellent to as-new, they are un-numbered and fit the gun precisely. The revolver comes in its original purple-tone, hinge-top box, numbered to the gun on its underside, in the interior is the Colt "Special Instructions" pamphlet. The box itself rates excellent with only the lightest scuff here there and a nice end label which verifies "nickel" along with a surcharge on the lid which reads "Special". As-expected the gun appears very much un-fired, un-turned since leaving the blue dome in 1930. A very handsome revolver. (38659-18) {C&R} (1800/2200) SOLD FOR $2,645.00
