serial #147319, 22 LR, 4 1/2" barrel with a bright excellent bore. The metal surfaces on this attractive little pistol retain about 98-99% original blue, the loss is due to some extremely light muzzle wear and perhaps a bit of high edge wear with a couple missing flakes on the frontstrap. The checkered walnut grips rate excellent with some very minor wear to a few of the points. Equipped with elevation adjustable front and windage adjustable rear sights, the pistol comes with a single blue body magazine marked "Colt Woodsman/Cal. 22 LR" on the floorplate. The arm comes in its original purple-tone hinge-top box, numbered to the gun on its underside. The box rates very good showing a couple old restored repairs here and there along the periphery of the lid with the correct "4 1/2" Barrel" surcharge end label. In the interior we find the Colts "Shooting Suggestions" pamphlet, green "This Colt Woodsman" hangtag, screwdriver still in its original manila envelope, "Colt Woodsman Automatic Pistol" instruction manual and original 1964-dated sales receipt from Bob Lounsbury Sporting Goods in Middletown New York, showing payment of $45. The purchaser was Emil McConnell, prominent New Jersey businessman and gun collector. Overall this is a really lovely sport model from-which it would be difficult to upgrade which appears very nearly as new-in-box. (38449-21) {C&R} (2000/3000) SOLD FOR $2,587.50
