serial #4098k, 8mm Mauser, 22" barrel with a very good bore that has a couple pits and some frosting but strong rifling. The barrel and nosecap retain 90% original blue and phosphate with some light pitting on front sight hood, some silvering at front, a couple tiny specks of oxidation, light freckling and scattered fading. The action retains 95% original blue and phosphate with some light fading. The lower tang and triggerguard retain 90% original blue with scattered light freckling and fading to brown. The laminated stock rates very good with an added varnish, a strong "(Eagle)/359" on the toeline, a strong "(Eagle)/WaA359" on the underside of the pistolgrip, an indiscernible Waffenamt on the left side of butt, a couple lamination cracks on the butt, a few chips, scattered dings and handling marks. The rear sight base is marked "G43 4908k ac 44", the bolt carrier and bolt are both stamped matching, while the gas piston, locking lugs and firing pin housing are electropenciled matching. The stock and the bolt housing appear to be unnumbered and the bolt housing tab is broken. A single magazine marked "aye K43" and an original leather sling are included with this rifle. A very good example of these desirable Nazi self-loading rifles. (208706-6) {C&R} (2000/4000) SOLD FOR $2,300.00
