serial #5933330, 30-06, 24" 2-63 dated National Match barrel with proper "T" stamping for "targeted" and a bright excellent bore. The metal surfaces retain 98% arsenal parkerized finish with some light silvering on the exposed edges. The walnut stock rates excellent having been lightly-cleaned with an added oil finish, a strong DoD eagle cartouche, a crisp circled "P" firing proof and a few light handling marks. The barrel channel of the stock is bedded to NM specs but it is numbered "3162" in grease pencil, the trigger housing is of H&R manufacture, the gas cylinder is a World War Two era single slot type but the left front of barrel, rear sight base, hooded rear sight, front sight, elevation knob and operating rod are all marked "NM". This rifle includes an original shipping receipt from Rock Island Arsenal to Albert Rizzoli of Albuquerque, New Mexico dated August, 1965. Two additional documents are included that both show this rifle shipped from the Erie Army Depot on August 12th, 1965. Also included are a 1965 manual for both the National Match Garand and M14, a GI style canvas sling and a brown cardboard shipping box. A very good entry level National Match Garand that will make a welcome addition to any military collection. (208706-2) {C&R} (2000/3000) SOLD FOR $2,990.00
