serial #9184a, 9mm, 8" barrel with a mostly bright very good plus bore showing some light oxidation and strong rifling throughout. The metal surfaces of this 1917-dated pistol retain about 94% original blue with some thinning on the gripstraps, high edge wear, light freckling, a few small dings and a couple spots of tiny pinprick pitting here and there. The straw color on the takedown lever and safety appear to have been refreshed at some point and the remaining small parts show strong original straw color with some silvering and light freckling. The magazine release spring, sear spring and breechblock pin retain very nice vibrant fire blue. The checkered walnut grips are stamp-numbered to the gun and remain in very good plus condition showing some lightly compressed areas, small dings and are just a little loose overall. The grip screws are replacements, the pistol is equipped with finely adjustable sights and the tangent sight is numbered to gun 7484. All of the remaining serialized parts are matching including the un-grooved firing pin. One bright-bodied wood base magazine numbered to the gun is included showing some lightly cleaned pinprick pitting at the base of the magazine body. Overall a very nice example that would make a great addition to any collection. (138050-755) {C&R} (1500/2500) SOLD FOR $1,840.00
