serial #058030S, 22 LR, 6" barrel with a bright excellent bore and serial #310375S, 22 LR, 4 1/2" barrel with a bright excellent bore. These pistols were ordered together and left the factory together with the factory French fitted case that they currently reside in. The guns are both factory "Class C" engraved and gold inlaid by Master Engraver George Spring. The engraving consists of wonderful relief floral scroll with fine punchdot shaded backgrounds with gold line border engraving which borders the edges of the barrels, barrel flutes and slide both to front and rear of serrations. The pistols wear their original factory thumbrest grips with the 6" gun having nice figure. The condition of the guns is wonderful showing no signs of being fired since proofing. They retain 99% of their strong deep original blue, the grips are similar with a couple very light marks in the finish on the highest edges. The guns each come with factory letters which confirm the configuration, engraving, gold inlay work and casing. The letters both show the guns shipping together with their case to Cherry's Sporting Goods Co., in Geneseo, IL on April 26, 1983, they were the only two guns in the shipment. Factory engraved Colt Woodsmans are extremely rare, particularly late third series guns such as these. A rare opportunity for the advanced Colt collector to obtain a near perfect pair of factory documented engraved, gold inlaid and cased Woodsman Match Target pistols.
