serial #F35256, 7.5 French, 22 3/4" barrel with a bright near excellent bore showing just a hint of light frosting. The metal surfaces of this Syrian contract rifle retain about 88-90% arsenal parkerized finish showing some high edge and operational wear, scattered scratches, handling marks and the buttplate worn to a mix of gray and silver. The pistolgrip hardwood buttstock and forend remain in about very good overall condition with moderate dings and abrasions scattered throughout, some small chips and handling marks. The stock cartouche on the right side butt is still very strong with June 1953 acceptance and both the buttstock and forend are stamp-numbered to the gun. The grenade launcher sights are present along with the bayonet. The triggerguard and bayonet are both matching the gun. The remaining parts are a mix of numbers, the top cover stamped F39344, the bolt carrier electro-penciled F35105 and the bolt electro-penciled F33218. The rifle includes one un-numbered magazine, what appears to be an original black leather sling in very good condition and it is not import-marked. A very good example of these uncommon military rifles. (138706-8) {C&R} (600/800) SOLD FOR $862.50
