serial #120544, 45 Colt, 7 1/2" barrel with a bright excellent bore. The metal surfaces on this lovely big target revolver retain about 97-98% original blue, the loss is due to some very light muzzle wear, light sharp edge of frame wear, and light cylinder fading with a minor handling mark here and there, showing a light turn ring. The bright-polished sides of the hammer remain brilliant with perhaps a tiny remnant here or there of some oxidation staining, the checkered trigger with some lovely blue. The revolver features a bead front sight with shallow u-notch rear and is the early flat-style of cylinder latch. The diamond checkered walnut grips with silver recessed Rampant Colt medallions rate very good plus to excellent showing only some minor wear or light dings, primarily along their butt edges, they are pencil-numbered to the gun on their interior. The gun times and locks up precisely and is a lovely example of these great big target model New Service revolvers, that will retain solid investment potential, but could still be taken to the range for an occasional day out.
