serial #S97761, 45 ACP / AR, 6 1/2" replacement heavy barrel with an excellent bore. This five-screw revolver started life as a Model 1950 Light Barrel Target revolver and was later re-barreled with a Model 1955 heavy barrel. The metal surfaces retain about 95% original blue with high edge wear, scratches, turn ring on the cylinder and few minor dings. The .500" target trigger and .500" target hammer retain robust case-hardened colors with light operational wear. The late 1960's style checkered goncalo alves factory target grips with silver S&W medallions rate excellent as re-varnished. The revolver has the standard Patridge front sight and black blade micro adjustable rear sight. All appropriate parts are correctly numbered to the gun except the barrel which has #165990. There are no factory rework marks found and the barrel was probably replaced by a local gunsmith. The work is well done and should make a good shooter or project gun if you can find a Model 1950 light barrel. (88718-18) {MODERN} (600/800) SOLD FOR $862.50
