serial #337, 320 S&W cal, 20" round barrel with a bright excellent bore. This is a very nice example of these unusual American arms and it comes in the rarest barrel length with an original case, extra sights and all matching numbers. The condition of the gun is quite nice as well with the barrel retaining 90% evenly thinning bright original blue finish. The frame also retains about 90% evenly thinning original blue with areas of loss showing a smooth and pleasing gray brown patina. The cylinder shows all of its original blue in the flutes with the balance being a smooth brown patina with scattered traces of original blue finish showing. The hammer and triggerguard show lots of faded original color case-hardened finish while the stock's attachment iron shows about 60% original blue blending with a pleasing smooth brown patina. The mottled brown hard rubber grips and forend rate very good with just normal light wear, the "S&W" logos were scrubbed from the grips long ago and there are a few scratches on the left side of the frame just above the grip. The rifle comes with its original detachable stock which rates excellent with 95% original finish remaining and with just normal light handling marks and a few blunt impact marks from the years. The original checkered hard rubber buttplate with "S&W" monogram rates very good plus showing light even wear. The rifle comes with its original peepsight which mounts in the stock iron, the original filler screw for when sight is not installed, a globe front sight, standard blade front sight and original folding leaf rear barrel sight. The original black canvas case rates near very good with most wear on rear bottom edge where one of the brass corners is missing; the leather straps are also missing. The interior of the case is very good. This is a very nice example of these interesting and scarce Smith & Wesson arms.
