serial #17465, .36 cal, 6 1/2" barrel with a good bore showing some patches of moderate oxidation and strong rifling. The metal surfaces of this revolver are mostly a pleasing smooth gray-gunmetal patina with some spots of moderate freckling, a couple small dings and a few tiny spots of oxidation staining. The brass triggerguard and backstrap is a mix of reddish patina, goldenrod and a few small spots of tarnished original silver. The cylinder motifs are somewhat visible but quite soft overall and the revolver is embellished with wonderful factory foliate scrollwork with punch-dot shading throughout and all of the usual markings are crisp and clear. The smooth walnut one piece grip is pencil-numbered to the gun and remains in excellent condition with most of its original varnish showing some rather attractive fine crazing throughout, some flaking at the high edges, small dings and handling marks. The wedge appears to be a more modern replacement, all of the serialized parts are matching and mechanical function is excellent with strong timing and lockup. A superb Manhattan revolver with some stunning and rarely seen engraving. (138674-7) {ANTIQUE} (2500/4000) SOLD FOR $2,415.00
