serial #167942, 22 S / L / LR, 24" round barrel with a bright near excellent bore showing just a few tiny spots of oxidation. The metal surfaces of this rifle are primarily a dark brown-gray patina with some streaks of blue remaining on the magazine tube and barrel in the more protected edges. The frame likewise retains a few hints of case-hardened colors and the bolt still shows some strong bright blue finish. The straight grip walnut buttstock and forend remain in very good condition retaining a healthy amount of varnish and showing some scattered small dings, tiny chips, handling marks and some more moderate flaking finish and abrasion on the underside of the forend. The shotgun style black checkered hard rubber buttplate remains in near excellent condition with some minor scuffs, tiny chips and a small streak of white paint. The rear sight has been filled in with a blank and there is a tang-mounted peep sight. Overall a well-used but solid 1892. (138620-95) {ANTIQUE} (500/700) SOLD FOR $977.50
