serial #3486284, 30-06, 24" 6-45 dated Springfield barrel with a very good bore that shows some frosting and a couple light pits near muzzle. The metal surfaces retain 85% arsenal parkerized finish with some silvering at the front of barrel, light oxidation staining and a few pinprinck pits on the charging handle and overall fading to brown. The walnut stock rates very good with an armory oil finish, a strong "SA/NFR" cartouche, a strong ordnance wheel, a strong circled "P" firing proof, a 7" repaired crack to the right of floorplate, a repaired chip in front of floorplate, scattered dings and handling marks. The parts appear to be mostly correct and of late war Springfield manufacture. The scope base and Griffin & Howe mount are both numbered differently than the rifle. The M82 scope is numbered 1500, the tube retains 95% original blue with some light fading and freckling. The scope has a single post reticle with very good optics that have a few specks and a slight yellow tint. The adjustment caps are both numbered "A7575180", while the scope tube is numbered "7634670". A Hart made flash hider, a K-Line brown leather cheekpiece, an aftermarket hard case and an original M1907 sling are all included. Also included is a 2002 CMP certificate listing this gun by serial number as an M1C. A fine example of a genuine U.S. M1C Garand sniper rifle. (208678-16) {C&R} (3000/5000) SOLD FOR $4,887.50
