serial #12950Z69, 243 Win, 22" barrel with a bright, excellent bore. Both the receiver and barrel feature the factory scroll engraving with about 98-99% original blue remaining; there are some light handling marks along the top of the barrel. The bolt retains a good amount of the original factory jeweled pattern along the full length extractor and the bolt handle is toning to a pleasing brown. The trigger retains all of its original gold plating and rifle is equipped with an Olympian grade satin chrome floorplate and triggerguard. The bottom metal is signed by Browning master engraver "J. Lewanczyk" and features deep cut foliate patterns along with a mountain lion scene on the floorplate and ram's head on the triggerguard. This pattern and scenes are consistent for the .243 and .308 caliber Olympian Grade rifles, Lewanczyk's work is typically scene on high grade double shotguns. The bottom metal is nicely fit to the Medallion Grade stock which is numbered to the receiver and rates excellent. The walnut Monte Carlo stock features fancy bordered skip-line checkering and a rosewood forend tip and triangle inlaid grip cap, both with white spacers. The stock also features swivels studs and the butt is fitted with a nice solid rubber rifle pad that features a basket weave pattern. There are no provisions for sights, however a Conetrol one-piece base with a set of 1" rings is mounted to the receiver. There is a very small area of light pitting on the left side of the receiver just below the wood line. It appears to be isolated and there is no further evidence of any salt wood. A lovely rifle in excellent overall condition that is in a terrific caliber offering and has an interesting and exquisite upgrade. (48612-31) {MODERN} (2500/3500) SOLD FOR $2,875.00
