serial #19507, 12 bore, 26" barrels with very good bores choked modified and improved modified. This is a nice British double gun that was made for the American market with tops of barrels marked "WILLIAM CASHMORE. BIRMINGHAM ENGLAND" on right and "MADE FOR KIRKWOOD BROS INC. BOSTON MASS. U.S.A.". This is a very strong action which features double locking underlugs, a third fastener through the rib extension and sideclips. The gun is proofed for 1 1/8 oz. loads but has been opened to 2 3/4"; minimum wall thickness is .025" on either side. The action and locks show lovely London fine scroll engraving with each lock being engraved "WM. CASHMORE". The barrels retain 97% superb quality restored blue finish. The action and locks show about 70% softened original color case-hardened finish with belly turning silver and remaining smooth. The checkered straight grip buttstock and splinter forend are of nicely figured walnut and show wonderful rich color with checkered butt and finely checkered wrist with well-defined dropper points. The stocks rate near excellent with 85% of their original hand rubbed oil finish remaining with just a few scattered light handling marks including some tiny marks within the checkering. The gun has a 14" length of pull with drops of 1 1/2" and 2 3/4". The gun locks up tight and handles nicely weighing just over 5 1/2 lbs.
