6. Wonderful C.R. Alsop Navy Model Percussion Revolver

serial #465, .36 caliber 4 1/2" octagon barrel with a near excellent bore that shows just a little light oxidation. This revolver is in wonderful condition with the only loss being due to poor storage. The barrel retains about 95% strong original blue finish. The loading lever shows about 95% brilliant original color case-hardened finish. The cylinder retains 80% bright original blue with almost all of the loss coming in one area which has scattered very fine salt & pepper pitting. The frame retains about 25% original blue with the balance flaked and a smooth, pleasing brown patina showing on the right side and some very fine pinprick pitting on the left side. The hammer retains lots of vibrant original color case-hardened finish. The two-piece walnut grips rate excellent with 95% original finish remaining. The revolver has all matching numbers including the grips which are numbered in pencil on their inside surface. The screwhead on the left side of the frame shows some slot damage.
