serial #493335, 300 H&H Mag (modified to 300 Mashburn Mag), 26" barrel with a bright excellent bore. The metal surfaces retain 95-97% original blue with some freckling on the floorplate and a few handling marks. The checkered pistolgrip walnut stock rates very good plus with some light flaking of the factory oil finish, a tight 3/4" grain crack in front of the floorplate, a couple dings and a few handling marks. The bolt is numbered matching to the receiver, the receiver screw holes are vacant, the rifle sighted with a Lyman 16B rear sight and a hooded Winchester 103C bead front sight. The rifle is equipped with factory sling swivels and a checkered hard rubber buttplate. There is an indiscernible crossed-out word behind the barrel address and the word "MASH" above it indicating that this rifle has been converted to 300 Mashburn magnum, a high performance round that almost matches the 300 Weatherby in performance. As with any arm of unknown caliber it is imperative to have this rifle checked out by a competent gunsmith prior to firing or loading it. An interesting conversion of a 1960 manufactured Model 70 rifle. (208585-68) {MODERN} (800/1200) SOLD FOR $920.00
