614. Winchester Pre-War Model 70 Bolt Action Rifle

serial #41342, 30-06, 24" barrel with a bright excellent bore. The metal surfaces retain 97% original blue with some light silvering at muzzle, a few minor handling marks on barrel, light flaking to brown on triggerguard and floorplate. The checkered pistolgrip walnut stock rates very good plus with an added varnish, some flaking, a couple dings and some handling marks. The bolt is numbered matching to the receiver, the gun is sighted with a Lyman No. 6 folding rear leaf sight and a hooded Winchester 103C bead front sight. The left rear of the stock has been cut for a peep sight, there is an added hole at the top rear of the receiver and there is a Lyman 57W peep sight mounted at the left rear. The gun is equipped with a red Winchester recoil pad giving it a 14" length of pull and factory sling swivels. A solid 1941 produced Model 70 that may be a good candidate for the November woods.
