serial #54343, .22 RF, 2 1/2" four barrel cluster showing very good bores which show strong rifling their full length but with also scattered light pitting. The barrel cluster shows strong trace original blue within the flutes with the higher radii toned primarily to a deep gunmetal gray, the right side with a bit of scattered oxidation and perhaps some light pinprick pitting. The breeches show light sprays of open foliate scroll at the rear with some light geometric decoration at the muzzles. The frame retains perhaps 97% original silver plate, there being flaking along the backstrap, a bit on the sharp edges and a bit at right rear of the hammer. The open foliate scroll with background punch-dot accenting remains sharp. The hammer and trigger are primarily a deep case-hardened gray with the firing pin spring retaining some strong purple-hue fire temper. The smooth rosewood grips rate very good plus to near excellent showing much original varnish with only light handling marks and flaking, primarily around the sharp edges of the butt. Barrel-to-frame lockup is excellent and the gun functions very well mechanically with both barrel and frame numbered alike. A really "sharp" example overall with a very attractive appearance.
