serial #1327907, 30-06, 9-29 dated Springfield barrel with a good plus bore that has some pitting toward muzzle. The metal surfaces retain 93% arsenal parkerized finish with a couple small spots of light pitting on floorplate, some oxidation staining on the bolt, some oxidation on bandkeeper, and some light fading on the exposed edges. The walnut stock rates good plus with an added oil finish, a pair of crisp circled "P" firing proofs on the pistolgrip, a partially faded "SA DAL" cartouche on the left side of wrist, the initials "P.H.I" behind the upper tang, a 6" crack on handguard, a 2/3" crack behind upper tang, scattered dings and handling marks. The cocking piece is of Remington manufacture, the number "100" is lightly stamped on the right rear of receiver, the initials "M.E." are lightly stamped on the right rear of rear sight base. An original 1907 leather sling that shows scattered crackling and flaking and a correct 1903 front sight hood are both included with this rifle. A very good example of an interwar 1903 Springfield rifle overall. (208569-55) {C&R} [Calhoun L.H. Howard Collection] (600/800) SOLD FOR $805.00
