75. Remington-Beals Second Model Pocket Percussion Revolver

serial #400, .31 cal, 3" octagon barrel with fair bore showing a heavy patch of oxidation toward the breech, lighter scattered oxidation and strong rifling. The metal surfaces of this revolver are mostly lightly cleaned gunmetal with old fine pitting, freckling, tiny dings and a couple flakes of original blue particularly strong in the protected area underneath the hand. The barrel markings are still quite crisp and clear. The left side plate has a small crack and the base pin appears to be a period replacement. The un-numbered rosewood grips and their screw are most likely older replacements and remain in near excellent condition with just a few minor handling marks. The barrel is matching, the cylinder is un-numbered and the original silver cone front sight is intact but a little rounded off. Half cock is not functional but the mechanism functions well otherwise with good timing and lockup just a little loose. Overall a very solid example of these rare Remington revolvers.
