Description Update (3/14/18): Serial number is 434693

serial #434653, 38 Special, 4" barrel with a bright excellent, likely unfired, bore. The metal surfaces on this second issue revolver retain about 99% original blue with excellent color case-hardening on the ejector rod head. The bright polished sides of the hammer are unstained, the left side showing a very tiny operational mark, the face of the trigger neatly checkered. There is no evident wear save for very light silvering in the factory milled lead cuts going into the cylinder stops, the cylinder itself is without a drag line. The checkered walnut silver medallion Rampant Colt grips rate excellent to as-new, they are un-numbered and fit precisely. The arm comes in its original purple-tone, hinge-top box numbered to the gun on its underside, with an original boar bristle cleaning brush and the Colts "Shooting Suggestions" pamphlet. The box itself rates excellent and has end label surcharge marked "Special". A perfect Police Positive Special which left Hartford in 1934. (38659-21) {C&R} (1000/1500) SOLD FOR $1,840.00
