1014. Stevens Model 416 Bolt Action Rifle with U.S. Property Markings

serial #203679, 22 LR, 26" heavy X-barrel with a bright near excellent bore showing minor pitting along its length. The metal surfaces retain perhaps 95% arsenal applied parkerized finish lightly toning to brown with a few scattered spots of fine oxidation staining. The receiver is marked "U.S. PROPERTY" and a small flaming ordnance bomb is present under the serial number on the receiver ring. The target style smooth walnut pistolgrip stock rates very good to near excellent with a few light handling marks and an added military oil finish. The bottom of the wrist behind the triggerguard is stamped with a "P" cartouche and the left side of the buttstock is stamped "R.R.A." for Red River Army Depot. The buttstock is fitted with a grooved steel buttplate and the forend is equipped with an adjustable sling rail. This rifle is equipped with a hooded post front sight, receiver mounted aperture sight and target blocks are mounted on the receiver ring and barrel. Included is a single blued detachable magazine and an O.D. green web military style sling. Overall an excellent condition training rifle with only about 10,000 manufactured for the military to add to your rimfire or martial collection.
