serial #V235886, 38 S&W, 5" barrel with an excellent bore. The metal surfaces retain about 95% original Parkerized finish with light high edge wear, a few scratches, thinning finish on the backstrap and cylinder plus a turn ring. The lanyard loop, standard hammer and trigger retain robust case-hardened colors with light operational wear and freckling, although, the lanyard loop is toning more to gray. The smooth walnut factory grips are numbered to the gun and rate about good with scattered light scratches, dents and a 1/4 x 1/2" shallow chip missing from the butt of the right panel. All appropriate parts are correctly numbered to the gun, the left topstrap is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY", Lt. Col. Guy H. Drewry's initials are on the butt and it still times and locks up correctly. There are no foreign proofs or acceptance marks on this gun. The gun shows light holster wear but should be a good shooter or a nice addition to a WWII collection. (88749-2) {C&R} (400/600) SOLD FOR $575.00
