114. Very Rare Early Ruger No. 1 Light Sporter Falling Block Rifle

serial #2286, 280 Rem., 22" light weight barrel with a bright excellent bore. This is a nice AB/S22L rifle seldom encountered in this caliber. The early single line address barrel retains 99% original blue. The action retains 99% original blue that has toned to smooth purple with the trigger assembly closely matching that of the barrel, the hand-fitted breechblock is numbered to the gun. The checkered pistolgrip stock rates near excellent with a few very light handling marks and blemishes and is numbered "3235" in black pen. The unnumbered semi-beavertail forearm with early style wrap around checkering rates excellent with only a few tiny blemishes. Rifle is equipped with a quarter rib and includes a set of factory rings and sling swivels. Of approximately 7918 non-prefixed serial numbered rifles, only approximately 39 were manufactured in this caliber with only three in this configuration.
