serial #58448, 380 ACP, 3 3/4" barrel with an excellent bore. This gun has a manufacture date of 1922 and remains in fine condition. The metal surfaces retain about 97% original blue with the grip safety and front strap starting to thin with pewter showing in areas of high edge wear, minor freckling, oxidation stains or perhaps a very light pinprick pitting along the lower left edge of the slide. The checkered hard rubber factory grips feature a Rampant Colt with the word "COLT" in a straight banner and rate about very good to excellent with a few light dents. The pistol includes a hinged maroon factory box that rates about good to very good with scuffed edges and other handling marks. The box is labeled "COLT AUTOMATIC PISTOL .32" which is for the model 1903 but the penciled serial number on the bottom is the correct "58448". One can only speculate but it is likely Colt put this Model 1908 in the wrong box and numbered it to this gun. Also included is a Colt two-page folding manual that is tearing in the seams, a pair of "Special Instruction" pamphlets and a two-tone factory magazine. The paperwork is starting to show signs of yellowing. (88784-11) {C&R} (1000/1500) SOLD FOR $1,495.00
